Four out of five people who called the swine flu line for Tamiflu did not actually have the disease, new figures have shown.

Around one million doses of Tamiflu have so far been given out, but according to the figures, hundreds of thousands of packets could have been wasted as most people with symptoms of flu did not have the H1N1 pandemic virus.

Random swabs taken by the Health Protection Agency show that four out of five people calling the National Pandemic Flu Service with symptoms of the disease, did not test positive for it.


At the end of the first wave of the pandemic in Britain, just one in twenty people calling the flu line with symptoms tested positive. 

It has led to allegations that millions of pounds has been wasted. 

The government has 33 million doses of Tamiflu with orders to extend this to 50 million and the drug, which shortens the length of the illness by around one day and reduces the likelihood of passing it on, was the major weapon in the fight against the pandemic until the vaccine became available.

The figures raised questions about the effectiveness of the flu line which uses lay people following a set of questions to determine if callers had swine flu and give them codes so they can collect Tamiflu.

Swabs taken on patients assessed by GPs revealed a much lower 'mis-diagnosis' rate but still around half of patients were found not to have the virus.

Expert advice is that people with swine flu should stay off work until their symptoms have completely cleared with around one week recommended but critics said if large numbers were 'mis-diagnosed' then they will have been off sick for longer than necessary.

While some people with flu symptoms did not have swine flu, other data from the HPA has found that millions may have had the H1N1 virus without any symptoms as tests discovered a larger proportion of people have been infected than previously thought.

The latest official figures suggest the worst of the second wave of the pandemic may be over but it has been warned that the NHS could still be in for a busy winter if ordinary seasonal flu replaces swine flu and takes hold after Christmas.

Mark Wallace, Campaign Director of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “These errors have a large cost to the NHS and a huge cost to the economy.

“These errors mean that large numbers of people have been given Tamiflu, or at the very least have been quarantined at home for days unnecessarily. 

“If the call centres were so inaccurate, then it suggests this was more about PR than medical treatment." 

Prof Steve Field, chairman of the Royal College of GPs, said the launch of the flu line was vital to ease pressure on family doctors at the height of the first wave of the pandemic.

He said: "Calls and appointments to GPs dropped immediately after it went live, it was very important. Influenza is very difficult to diagnose and because it has been a relatively mild disease for most people the symptoms have been very similar to a bad cold or seasonal flu but for some people it has been very serious.

"The use of Tamiflu probably prevented a lot more people from becoming seriously ill and helped those with the disease to get back to work sooner than if they had not been given it."

Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, Norman Lamb, said: “These figures are a damning indictment of the government’s approach to tackling swine flu.

“Ministers had years to prepare for such an outbreak but completely failed to put in place an effective Flu-line service.

“While protecting people during an outbreak has to be the priority we cannot escape the fact that an enormous amount of money has been wasted by giving people drugs they simply didn’t need.”

A spokesman for the Health Protection Agency said: “The Health Protection Agency routinely tests samples from patients visiting their GP with flu-like illness and callers to the National Pandemic Flu Service.

“During a flu season, positivity rates for flu will fluctuate. The higher the positivity rate seen through sampling, the greater likelihood that there is more flu circulating. During a flu season, of all the samples tested only a proportion will be positive for flu – this can be as high as 60-70 per cent during the peak of a flu season.”

A spokesman for the Department of Health, said: "Antivirals have a key role to play in managing swine flu - they help reduce symptoms and protect patients with 'flu like illnesses from developing complications and it remains the best line of defence for those not in at-risk groups.

"The NPFS has taken a heavy burden away from GPs - services for other patients would have suffered if GPs were expected to see every suspected swine flu case. Swabbing every patient would never be possible and would have jeopardised patient care. "The algorithm used by NPFS to manage patients was developed by extensive consultation with the medical Royal Colleges and other professional bodies.

"Our response has been proportionate, appropriate, and as cost effective as possible."

A teenager is critically ill after taking the swine flu treatment Tamiflu prescribed by the Government's controversial helpline.



Samantha Millard, 18, was told she had the virus after describing her symptoms to staff with no medical training.


She took just three pills before developing blisters all over her body, and was today in intensive care unable to breathe on her own.

She is being treated at a specialist burns unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital where doctors fear she may have the life-threatening Stevens-Johnson syndrome which causes the skin to peel off.

The syndrome affects just three in a million people and is usually triggered by an adverse reaction to medication. The mortality rate is around 15 per cent.

Victims develop terrible scarring all over their bodies and well as severe conjunctivitis which can lead to blindness and mouth infections which can stop them eating. 

Samantha's devastated mother Deborah, 41, told The Sun her family from Bicester in Oxfordshire were furious that Samantha had been wrongly given the treatment.

Sitting at Samantha's bedside with her other daughter Charley, 23, she said: 'It shouldn't be the case that people with no medical background can make these decisions.

'These people are just Joe Bloggs off the street. My daughter could die because of this. Her condition is getting worse. 

Earlier this year the Daily Mail revealed some of the call centres speaking to people with suspected swine flu were manned by 16-year-olds with just three hours training. 

A Roche spokeswoman said the incident would be investigated and could not rule out the role of Tamiflu in triggering the syndrome. 

She said: 'While it is difficult to determine the role of Tamiflu in Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, the prescribing information for doctors carries information regarding single cases of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome that have been reported. 

'Roche's priority is to safeguard the well-being of patients and, as with any adverse event reporting, this report will be closely investigated and the information shared with Regulatory Authorities worldwide.' 

A Department of Health spokesman said: 'We are sorry to hear about this young woman's illness and hope she recovers quickly. 

'Stevens Johnson Syndrome can happen after medicines or infections and it is very difficult to pinpoint the cause. Serious reactions to Tamiflu are extremely rare and it should still be taken as soon as possible, especially for very serious swine flu cases. 

'The National Pandemic Flu Service has been informed by the best clinical expertise including specialist UK Royal Colleges. It includes questions so that potential signs of serious conditions are picked up and referred for immediate medical advice. 

'People should still trust their instincts - call NHS Direct or your local surgery as soon as possible if you are worried.'

Ireland: Almost 500 People Have Adverse Reaction To Swine Flu Vaccine

ALMOST 500 people have developed suspected adverse reactions from the swine flu vaccine, new figures show.

At least 300,000 doses of the vaccine have been administered to date, but no serious safety issues have yet been identified, according to the Irish Medicines Board (IMB).

The most frequent adverse reactions have been fever, nausea, headache and allergic effects. These reports are consistent with the expected pattern of adverse reactions for the vaccines, according to the board.

The two versions of the vaccine – GlaxoSmithKline’s Pandemrix and Baxter’s Celvapan vaccine – have attracted similar numbers of suspected adverse reactions. The IMB says the balance of risks and benefits for both vaccines remain positive.

The general pattern of adverse reactions in Ireland is reflected across Europe where some 10 million people have been vaccinated against swine flu, according to the European Medicines Agency.

Officials say adverse reactions are not necessarily caused by the vaccine. They could be a symptom of another illness or they could be associated with another product taken by the patient.

Healthcare professionals are actively encouraged to report any suspected adverse events following vaccination.
By last Thursday the Pandemrix vaccine had received a total of 234 adverse reaction reports.

The most frequently reported suspected reactions were “injection site” reactions (such as pain, swelling, redness), gastro-intestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea) and flu-like symptoms (pain, fever, fatigue and swollen glands).

Last week also, the European Medicines Agency warned that young children may experience fever after their second dose of the Pandemrix vaccine. Following an ongoing clinical trial, the agency said this information should be included in the prescribing information, and be taken into consideration when deciding whether to give a second dose to children.

Of the suspected overall number of adverse reactions, the IMB received 14 reports relating to pregnant women. The reactions included dizziness, pins and needles and weaknesses in vaccinated limbs. There have been two reports of “facial palsy” – weakness of the facial muscles – following vaccination. An investigation is ongoing to establish whether these can be directly linked to the vaccine.

There has been a similar pattern in relation to the Celvapan vaccine, which has formed the basis for 233 suspected adverse reactions. These include injection site reactions, flu-like illness and allergic-type reactions. There have also been reports of nausea and vomiting, some of which were serious and required treatment. Also, one patient died 10 days after being vaccinated with Celvapan.

However, the patient had a number of underlying conditions including cardiac disorders and diabetes. The IMB said there was no evidence of a causal relationship between vaccination and the patient’s death.

A total of 19 adverse reaction reports were received in respect of pregnant women. They included gastrointestinal symptoms, flu-like symptoms and vaccination-related events such as dizziness.

Both vaccines have resulted in 483 adverse reactions. The vaccine used in 16 of these reactions has yet to be established.

Polish Health Minister Calls for "Pandemic" To Be Declared Ended

The Polish Health Minister and family doctor Ewa Kopacz defended her decision not to order the swine flu vaccine for Poland from pharmaceutical companies after they refused to accept liability for the new and untested jab at an EU meeting in Brussels this week, reports Polskaweb. 


“I will not change my strategy, for which I will, however, take the full responsibility. I have taken this position for a long time under an enormous external pressure, and felt compelled to make certain decisions. But I cannot with good conscience give way,” she said to applause from some of her colleagues.


“We did not have a single death in [Poland] in nearly 7 months swine flu hysteria which could be attributed to the H1N1 virus," she said.

“Now 24 people have allegedly died from the virus in the blood in the last three weeks.“

“1158 people in Poland have so far been infected and only a handful of these patients are sill in hospitals and most of these because they were suffering from other chronic diseases as well as having the swine flu virus."

“This is true of nearly all the people who died. They had various underlying sicknesses, including cancer and HIV and kidney illnesses,“ Kopacz said.

She noted that 80% of the people with the swine flu suffered milder symptoms than people with the normal flu.

Kopacz also called for an end to the swine flu pandemic level 6 declaration and a return to reason.

Kopacz has in the meantime been attacked by Janusz Kochanowski, national ombudsmen, who filed charges on Tuesday in Warsaw against her for not failing to address a pandemic in a move that is bound to raise speculation as to whether he has financial links to the pharma cartel that profits from promoting the idea there is a pandemic when there is verifiably no pandemic.

Even the Austrian Health Minister Alois Stöger has admitted there is no swine flu pandemic and called for WHO to “re-evaluate the pandemic level 6“ declaration.

Stöger has come under fire in Austria for wasting huge amounts of public funds in purchasing the untested and toxic swine flu jab from Baxter, a jab which the general public has refused to take.

Criminal charges should be filed against Kochanowski for abusing his position and endangering the lives of the Polish people by pressuring the Health Minister to buy the swine flu jabs for the profits of the pharma companies.

The Polish media also received praise from officials for „honest“ reporting of the facts that there is no pandemic threat in contrast to the foreign press which has been spreading panic so helping big pharma to massive profits.

Abortion caused by "swine flu" vaccine in Sweden - again!

A woman in Sweden was pregnant in the ninth month when she was talked into taking the "swine flu" vaccine by doctors. Two days later she gave birth to a perfect but lifeless son.

"- I was longing so much to hear my child's laughter and cry", Zahra Abdelkader said.

She had been to recent check ups and everything was normal and the child was perfectly healthy. Zahra, who earlier had decided not to take the vaccine, was talked into it by staff at the local hospital where she had her check ups made.

"-Before I got the shot, everything was fine with my child. I don't know how I will be able to live with this but I have to share my experience so that other women will not be exposed to the same thing. I believe it was the vaccine that killed my baby."

Ingemar Persson, senior expert at the Swedish Medical Products Agency commented the horrible death in a statement: "- we have examined four cases earlier of women that have reported abortions after vaccination. we have looked very carefully on each case and concluded that it has nothing to do with the vaccine."

Sweden is the country with the highest number of vaccinated people. The trust in authorities is strong and media has effectively blocked out any criticism against the mass vaccination in an extraordinary propaganda campaign spanning all major news papers and TV-stations. Sweden is traditionally one of the most vaccine friendly nations where almost every child gets vaccinated at birth. The debate about vaccines and their dangers is ignored and gets very little attention by media.

Swedes are also susceptible to tricks played against them like "offering" something for free or to scare tactics and fake shortages. All these factors together with the massive media propaganda campaign and cover up is the reason why so many Swedes get the poisonous injections.

Two Children Die in The Netherlands After Swine Flu Shot

Two children in The Netherlands died after getting the swine flu shot according to the newspaper, De Telegraaf.

One of the children had a severe heart disease and died 5 days after getting the shot.

The second child developped a fever after being vaccinated. The child appears to have had no underlying condition or sickness that could be attributed as the cause of death.


The authorities are dying a link between the shot and the deaths.

Bicarbonate Treatment for Swine Flu (1924)

Over 150 years ago Dr. Austin Church formed a business to produce and distribute Baking Soda. ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda is derived from a natural occurring mineral called trona. But this was not always the case and as we can see in the information in this chapter, which is from a 1924 booklet,[1] published by the Arm & Hammer Soda Company. On page 12 the company starts off saying, “The proven value of Arm & Hammer Bicarbonate of Soda as a therapeutic agent is further evinced by the following evidence of a prominent physician named Dr. Volney S. Cheney, in a letter to the Church & Dwight Company:

“In 1918 and 1919 while fighting the ‘Flu’ with the U. S. Public Health Service it was brought to my attention that rarely any one who had been thoroughly alkalinized with bicarbonate of soda contracted the disease, and those who did contract it, if alkalinized early, would invariably have mild attacks. I have since that time treated all cases of ‘Cold,’ Influenza and LaGripe by first giving generous doses of Bicarbonate of Soda, and in many, many instances within 36 hours the symptoms would have entirely abated. Further, within my own household, before Woman’s Clubs and Parent-Teachers’ Associations, I have advocated the use of Bicarbonate of Soda as a preventive for “Colds,” with the result that now many reports are coming in stating that those who took “Soda” were not affected, while nearly every one around them had the “Flu.”

Recommended dosages from the Arm and Hammer Company for colds and influenza back in 1925 were:

During the first day take six doses of half teaspoonful of Arm & Hammer Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water, at about two hour intervals.

During the second day take four doses of half teaspoonful of Arm and Hammer Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water, at the same intervals.

During the third day take two doses of half teaspoonful of Arm and Hammer Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water morning and evening, and thereafter half teaspoonful in glass of cool water each morning until cold is cured. 

"Well the sodium bicarbonate cure for colds and sore throats.
A friend called as I was reading about it, I told her to try it.
She is rapt! Relief in a few hours, and she went to work the
following day! And she was miserable and could hardly talk,
had just woken with it full on, and was planning on missing work.”

In order to secure the best results with Arm & Hammer Pure Bicarbonate of Soda (Baking Soda) when taken internally, certain simple rules must be observed. Materia Medica, pharmacology and Therapeutics (Bastedo, Page 88) clearly outlines these rules to follows:

“The effect of an alkali in the stomach will vary according to the nature of the stomach contents at the time of administration. In the resting period (after food is digested) sodium bicarbonate merely dissolves mucus and is absorbed as bicarbonate into the blood, to increase its alkalinity directly.

“In the digestive period it reduces the secretion of gastric juice, neutralizes a portion of the hydrochloric acid, liberates the carminative carbon dioxide gas, and is absorbed as sodium chloride.

“In cases of fermentation or ‘sour stomach’ it may neutralize the organic acids and so result in the opening of a spasmodically closed pylorus (the opening between the stomach and the small intestine); while at the same time it acts to overcome flatulency (accumulation of gas in the stomach and bowels).

“The time of administration must, therefore, be chosen with a definite purpose. Usually for hyperchlohydria (excess of acid) one hour or two hours after meals will be the period of harmful excess of acid.

“In continuous hyperacidity and in fermentative conditions a dose an hour before meals will tend to prepare the stomach for the next meal; or sometimes a dose will be necessary immediately after eating, because of abnormal acid or base having been present at the commencement of the meal. (For the average person one-half hour after meals is recommended).

“A dose at bedtime tends to check the early morning acidity, or a dose on arising cleans the stomach of acid and mucus before breakfast.”

Whenever taking a bicarbonate solution internally the soda should be dissolved on cold water.

This is all very valuable information coming from the horses own mouth, the Arm and Hammer Baking Soda Company, which sells aluminum free baking soda. Clearly they knew what they had in their hands one hundred years ago; and its long use in medicine sustains the companies published medical views:

“Besides doing good in respiratory affections, bicarbonate of soda is of inestimable value in the treatment of Alimentary Intoxication, Pyelitis (inflammation of the pelvis of the kidney), Hyper-Acidity of Urine, Uric Acid disturbances, Rheumatism and Burns. An occasional three-day course of Bicarbonate of Soda increases the alkalinity of the blood, assists elimination and increases the resisting power of the body to all Infectious Diseases.”

Magnesium chloride is the only form of magnesium that has been reported to increase immune system strength though all forms of magnesium need to be counted in this regard. When one adds magnesium chloride to ones baths, puts it on the skin like suntan screen, or takes it orally with sodium bicarbonate one supercharges their defensive perimeter or what is called the anti-pathogen factor in Chinese Medicine. Add Iodine, Selenium, Vitamin C and some healthy sun exposure or Vitamin D and we have the heart of army we need to array against viral invaders.
