Health Minister Bujar Osmani will mark the start of the campaign by getting immunized at the City Health Protection Bureau. Vaccination is free of charge and will be carried out in public health centers throughout the country.

The vaccination is being conducted after an additional 20,000 swine flu "Baxter" vaccines arrived in Macedonia on Thursday. Some 5,000 vaccines, donated by Turkey, were used for immunising doctors and nurses.

Although the World Health Organization has confirmed that the vaccines are perfectly safe, immunisation is clouded by controversy in Macedonia. Media reported that many doctors have refused to take the shot in fear of complications, accompanied by a wide spread uncertainty among the wider population.

The government has launched a media campaign to convince people that the shot is safe.

When it comes to the subject of vaccinating your child, there is no quote more appropriate than a line from Stevie Wonder's song, "Superstition"-"When you believe in things that you don't understand, then you suffer. Superstition is a waste."

I say this for a couple of reasons:

First, probably 90% of Americans do not understand the nature of vaccines, and yet believe in them wholeheartedly.

Secondly, vaccinations have their beginnings in a very superstitious time, "when live frogs were swallowed for the cure of worms; when cow dung and human excreta were mixed with milk and butter for diphtheria; when the brains of a man who had died a violent death were given in teaspoonful doses for the cure of smallpox."

In fact, the "Father of Vaccinations", Edward Jenner, simply started promoting a Gloucestershire dairy maids superstition that said "if you contract cowpox, then you can't get smallpox". What's even more incredible is that Mr. Jenner was not even a medical doctor. He did not sit for a single medical exam, but merely apprenticed with a surgeon for two years, then hung up a shingle that said "Edward Jenner, Surgeon and Apothecary".

Christian Web News - Judicial Watch, a public interest group, published results of its review of new documents on the side effects and reactions to Gardasil, the vaccination for human papillomavirus (HPV).

The documents are from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

The documents showed 16 new deaths (including four suicides) between May 2009 and September 2010. The information also showed 3,589 Adverse Reactions Related to Gardasil between during this time frame, 789 “serious” reports, with 213 cases resulting in permanent disability and 25 resulting in a diagnosis of Guillain Barre Syndrome.

Three hearbreaking stories about girls who got the Gardasil shot are written below:

* A nineteen year old girl with no medical history except occasional cases bronchitis received Gardasil and in 53 days, had “Headache, Nausea, dizziness, chilling, tiredness, shortness of breath, complained of chest plain, severe cramps.” She experienced an Acute Cardiac Arrhythmia. Attempts to resuscitate her resulted in a sternal fracture, but were unsuccessful and the patient died. — V. 356938
* A thirteen year old girl was vaccinated on July 17th, 2009. Ten days later, she developed a fever and was treated. However, “the patient did not recover and was admitted to the hospital on [August 8th]…She developed dyspnoea and went into a coma…she expired [that day] at around 9:00 pm. The cause of death was determined as ‘death due to viral fever.’ … This event occurred after 23 days of receiving first dose of Gardasil. — V. 380081
* Thirteen days after vaccination, a ten year old girl developed “progressive loss of strength in lower and upper extremities almost totally…Nerve conduction studies [showed Guillain Barre Syndrome].” Case was “considered to be immediately life-threatening.” — V. 339375

“To say Gardasil has a suspect safety record is a big understatement. These reports are troubling and show that the FDA and other public health authorities may be asleep at the switch. In the meantime, the public relations push for Gardasil by Merck and politicians on Capitol Hill continues. No one should require this vaccine for young children," said Tom Fitton, Judicial Watch President.

If the flu shot was so damned important, why do the people who know it best, want it least?

A new report finds that barely half of all healthcare workers in California hospitals got flu shots last year, at the height of the Great Swine Flu Swindle.

What's more, two-thirds of state hospitals failed to meet the federal target of 60 percent vaccination rates, and only 1.6 percent had vaccination rates of 80 percent or better, according to numbers obtained by Consumers Union, the organization behind Consumer Reports.

Consumers Union seems to think this is part of some great national scandal -- that healthcare workers are putting themselves and their patients at risk by not getting shots.

PUH-leaze -- save the outrage act for faulty dishwashers, because these aren't irresponsible nincompoops. These are people exposed to the flu on the frontlines every day, people plugged into the medical community, and people who have read the very real and consistent research on the futility of the flu shot.

Give them a little credit -- they know something about this, and they know it's a hoax... and not just in California.

Across the country, healthcare workers refused to raise their sleeves for the vaccination last year, and in some cases it nearly cost them their jobs. Thankfully, the courts put to a stop to what was turning into a de facto forced vaccination program.

And now, the jig is up once and for all -- because if the shot was so important to good health, all these unvaccinated workers should have gotten sick... practically shutting down hospitals and clinics across the nation.

Remember the Great Doctor Shortage of 2009? Of course you don't -- because it didn't happen.

So if you can't take it from me, take it from them -- you don't need a shot to avoid the flu. Just good habits, good hygiene and a good immune system.
